V Pulleys are simple, inexpensive, and does not require axially aligned shafts.
It protect the machinery from overload and jam, and also damps noise and vibration. They need no lubrication and minimal maintenance. They have high efficiency usually 95%, and are of relatively low cost if the shafts are far apart.

Taper Lock Pulleys are standard range of metric pulleys and are available in mm sizes. They facilitate ease of fitting by having slit taper bushes and half-threaded holes for easy assembly and disassembly. They eliminate reboring and keywaying problem since the pulley need not be finished according to bore. Instead, with taper bushes, changes in bore dia can be easily made.
The set consist of a Pulley and a Bush. The bushes are avaialable in various bore sizes and can be changed as per requirement by just tigheteing of allen screws. Removal of the bush is also easy by the help of jacking screws provided in the pulley itself.

Step pulleys have two or more non-adjustable grooves which have different pitches located around the same shaft. These pulleys change the speed ratio of the transmission.
The typical step pulley consists of three to five grooves. This type of step pulley is found on equipment such as drill presses, lathes and milling machines where different operational speeds can be produced simply by changing the belt to a different pulley size. The step pulley is always operated in pairs, and when the belt is changed on one pulley, it is also changed on the corresponding pulley on the other side of the belt.
When it has been determined that the speed should be regulated on a particular step pulley equipped machine, the process of adjusting the speed is usually an easy one. With the motor in the off position, open the belt cover. Take note of where the belt is currently positioned on the pulleys. Remember, a large pulley driving a smaller pulley will result in more power but less speed output. Conversely, a small pulley driving a large pulley will have more speed output but less power.

Stepped Pulleys can be manufactured and provided in custom sizes or according to customer specifications. Standard sizes available ex-stock are from 2 inch up to 6 inches dia in steps of 1/4" and 1/2".
Flat belt pulleys are designed for power and speed transmission through a flat belt. The most common designs are flat pulleys with a rounded contact surface. The rounding ensures the centering of the flat belt in operation. For some transmissions, flat belt pulleys with a cylindrical contact surface or rounded with an outer shoulder (with a collar) can be used.
